Bryson Scott Puryear stabbed the unidentified man in the back in the 100 block of Washington Avenue around 5 p.m. on June 11, 2023, police alleged in the release
A man sitting on his porch intervened which caused Puryear to flee—only to get caught by the police a block from the scene, the police explained.
The victim was taken to Lancaster General Hospital. Puryear was taken to Lancaster County Prison on aggravated assault charges, police said and court records confirmed.
He's been held on $250,000 in bail and his preliminary has been set before Magisterial District Judge Tony S. Russell at 9 a.m. on June 23, 2023, according to his latest court docket.
Puryear has a criminal record for drug-related offenses in 2015, '18, and '19; harassment in 2018, '20, and '22; disorderly conduct in 2018; driving under the influence in 2019; fighting in 2020; and several charges related to an aggravated assault that he pleaded guilty to in 2022, according to his previous court dockets.
He has served several years in prison and was on probation at the time of the most recent assault, court records show.
